Game On Live: Why to use board games in education and youth work

Yesterday, 19th of May we had a wonderful start of the online dissemination activities of our project "Game On: Developing Educational Board Games for Young Entrepreneurs" with an online streaming in Shokkin Group International's Facebook page. The event gathered up to 58 people from Moldova, Germany, Norway, Armenia, Poland, Ukraine, Portugal and many other countries.

During the 1-hour long streaming, we introduced the viewers to the project's objectives and timeline and discussed the role of game-based learning in education and youth work. "What is "learning through games?"; "What are the advantages and disadvantages of using educational board games?".

We also talked about the results of the focus groups with young people carried out in the first phase of the project (about the use of games and their understanding of entrepreneurship) and we dedicated a few minutes to briefly introduce the two intellectual outputs of this long-term project: the educational board game development manual and the four educational board games.

The session finished with a very fruitful round of Q&A with many questions and contributions of participants. Huge thanks to everyone who managed to join the live streaming, it was very exciting to see so many known names and to have such a successful and interactive session!

In the upcoming weeks, several online streamings in various languages will be held by Shokkin Group International, Ticket2Europe, Awesome People and Solidarity Mission to present each of the developed games. We hope to see you there!
