On 31st of August, the first campaign of the Swedish team came to an end. Stephanie was the creator of #SuraKommentarer, an online campaign that brought up experiences of inequality at home through the #yellowprotest:
It's been more than a month now since the end of the campaign. More than a month trying to digest and understand what was created. In the beginning I was a little bummed out that people were shy of sending in their stories, of the need to ask friends and friend's friends about their experiences. Were we too green? Too new and unknown for that kind of trust? Then it happened, our first sent in post, I remember I woke up to it and my heart was beating fast while opening the direct message thinking "Is this the final hurdle?" A bit naive, thinking back, I came out of this experience with a better understanding of what a whirlwind the internet is and how BIG it is. How marketing and luck is key to at least have a chance in it's midst. Like I said, I was bummed in the beginning but I then realized that popularity was not the goal, the goal was to shed light on the issue happening all around us. I finally understood that when multiple people who followed the account repeated "oh, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who's gone through this". A bit dark, but it's the reality right now and before there can be a change we have to acknowledge the issue.”
